Responsibilities

The Care Co-ordinator is responsible for the effective management and supervision of Care workers and supporting the Branch Manager to ensure the branch is providing an excellent provision of service to our customers, clients and colleagues daily, ensuring compliance with national minimum standards of care and using effective rostering to fully utilise staff hours and drive employee engagement. The Care Co-Ordinator role requires candidates that can multi-task, have excellent communication skills and can work well under pressure. They should be professional, polite and attentive, whilst also being accurate and should be able to represent the business at a senior level, both internally and externally. The role of it is diverse, fast paced and very challenging/demanding being responsible for care delivery and continuity of care for Potters Health Care clients. The candidate for this position will, always, act in such a manner as to justify public trust and confidence, to uphold and enhance the good standing and reputation of the profession and to serve in the best interests of individual clients. They should always be prepared and responsive and willing to meet each challenge directly.

Essential Information

Qualifications – candidates should have a background experience in health and social care at senior level -Hold an SVQ3, HNC in Health and social care, or is working towards the relevant qualification   Other requirements: -Good verbal and written communication in English -A driving licence and own car are essential. -Proof of right to work in the UK. *Successful applicants will be required to complete a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application and also register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of starting.

Tasks

-To ensure effective day to day running of homecare services delivered to all clients without fail by ensuring all shifts are covered -To establish close contact with staff and regular on-site review of the Health and Social Care standards. -supporting senior care workers to fulfil their job role -Willing to cover care calls where required. -participate in on call duties during the week and weekends on a rota basis with other colleagues -Matching care workers to customers, ensuring care workers are notified of all conditions relating to the assignment, including care worker’s rate of pay -work very closely with the Care Manager to ensure effective running of business -You will play an essential role in the company, helping to enhance the good standing and reputation of the profession. This position comes with the potential of further career development as well as interesting and satisfying professional challenges. -Develop and maintain good communication records for the client, service users, staff and colleagues -holding regular staff/team meetings and taking minutes. -Attend engagement sessions with external partners e.g reviews or meetings -Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the homecare sector by attending relevant external meetings/workshops. Ensure compliance with company’s recruitment selection, following the Employment Compliance procedure. Collate data and maintain staff and service user files, ensuring confidentiality. Ensure compliance with SSSC Code of Practice and Health and Social Care Standards for Care at Home (Care Inspectorate) Work towards targets and ensure business growth. Maintain confidentiality of the Company at all times and adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998
